Miroslaw Balka unveils a new site-specific sculpture at Castello di Ama, a winery located in Siena, Italy.

In red nerve (2019), Balka suspends a single red thread from ceiling to floor to evoke an image of the contingency and vulnerability of the human condition.

This marks the sixteenth addition to a series of permanent artworks conceived for the art project, Castello di Ama for Contemporary Art.
