TEFAF MAASTRICHT
15 – 20 March 2025
White Cube returns to the Netherlands for the 2025 edition of TEFAF Maastricht, featuring works by artists such as Georg Baselitz, Lynne Drexler, Tracey Emin, Imi Knoebel, Kenneth Noland, and Danh Vo.
Highlights include Georg Baselitz’s radical early oil on canvas from 1962 titled Drei Köpfe (Three Heads) and Tracey Emin’s 2024 painting Barbed Wire Stitches, which alludes to the artist’s recent battle with life-threatening illness.
In addition, Midnight (1979-2004) by renowned colour field painter Kenneth Noland will be presented alongside Untitled (1959) by the late American artist Lynne Drexler, following the recent exhibition of her work from the 1960s at White Cube Mason’s Yard in London, and ahead of her solo exhibition at White Cube Hong Kong.

1965: Malcolm in Winter: A Translation Exercise
7 February – 6 April 2025
Commemorating Malcolm X on the centenary of his birth and 60th anniversary of his assassination, ‘1965: Malcolm in the Winter: A Translation Exercise’ marks Theaster Gates’s first contact with the archive of late Japanese journalist Ei Nagata and his partner Haruhi Ishitani. Through a series of architectural interventions, large-scale installations, archival works and new film works, Gates engages with the methods of care and preservation nurtured in Japanese philosophy and craftsmanship, drawing upon them as a framework to consider the role of art and aesthetics in shaping political, ideological and cultural legacies.
