In July, White Cube Seoul opens the first exhibition in Korea by Zhou Li (b. 1969, Hunan, China), featuring 10 new large-scale paintings made in the artist’s studio in China over the past year.

Drawing from contemporary Western art and Chinese masters of calligraphy, Zhou’s abstract paintings delve into the relationship between herself and her surroundings, incorporating endless loops and defining blocks of colour that delimit transient, open spaces.
